Pt. Gopal Prasad Dubey is also a choreographer working with the mainstream cinema as well as with the experimental theatre and films. His choreographic works include two dance ballets for Television - "Jeevan Rekha" & "Dharma Chakra". He collaborated with Sharon Lowen on these projects, from whom he received training in Odissi.

He choreographed and performed in the Chhau tradition in TV serials like Shyam Benegal's "Bharat Ek Khoj" Ramanand Sagar's "Uttar Ramayan" Amol Palekar's "Mrignayani" and the NFDC film "The Last Vision" directed by A.K.Bir.

His choreography in theatre include, among others, the Sangeet Natak Academy award winner "Andha Yug" directed by Prof. Mohan Maharshi, "Antigone" for Awadh Theatre, New Delhi, "Sakunthalam", for Volos Theatre, Greece, "Death Watch" directed by Kumar Varma, 'The Golden Leaves for Multicultural Centre of Inchon City, S. Korea, 'Mud Man' for Ten Years Later Theatre Group, S.Korea.

Pt. Gopal Prasad Dubey has collaborated with Mr. Henry Smith of Solaris, New York for a Multicultural dance production "Dance of the Warriors".

At present he resides in Mumbai. His life is a story of his fierce attempts to define and redefine a lost and floundering dance tradition. In his own words " For the real artist there is no hiding but an endless reaching out for Truth. Each Movement is a revelation. Each gesture is an expose". Today Pt. Gopal Prasad Dubey is synonymous with Chhau in its present form, the world over.
